Otley Courthouse is delighted to unveil its brand-new tombola machine, crafted with care and ingenuity by members of Wharfedale Men’s Shed (WMS). The new addition, sporting vibrant yellow paintwork and a host of thoughtful design features, replaces the previous machine, which had sadly succumbed to wear and tear over the years.
Hazel from Otley Courthouse reached out to the Shed for assistance when the old machine finally fell apart, leaving the community without one of its key fundraising tools. Rising to the challenge, the talented team at WMS designed and built a sturdy replacement that combines both functionality and flair.
The new machine boasts a magnetic lid for secure operation and a smooth mechanism that ensures fairness and reliability during each draw. The bright yellow finish not only adds a touch of cheer but also ensures the machine stands out during events.
Since its debut, the machine has already been put to the test at multiple events and has proven to be a resounding success. Feedback from organisers and participants alike highlights how well it performs, making the process both seamless and enjoyable.
Hazel and the team at Otley Courthouse expressed their gratitude to WMS for their support and craftsmanship. The collaboration exemplifies the power of community spirit and the impact of skilled volunteers in keeping local traditions alive.
The new tombola machine will no doubt serve the Courthouse for years to come, continuing to bring joy and excitement to fundraisers and events.
