The latest project undertaken by d(i)ynamic duo, Bob M and Stuart, plus this time ably assisted by Bob E, was to build a Kiosk for Jo, a lovely lady in Menston, who grows plants and flowers and sells them to raise funds for the MS Trust charity.
Jo approached us some time ago asking if we could possibly build a kiosk but utilise some red cedar and fake slate roofing sheet which she had. Stuart and Bob M visited and discussed the requirement and assessed the materials available and agreed to undertake the building of a sturdy frame which would be clad with these materials.
Owing to the lack of space at the Men’s Shed workshop, Bob M undertook the production of the framework in his workshop at home and made sure that all parts fitted together before dis-assembling and creating four flat packs for assembly at the Menston premises where it was required.
Come the day of installation the sun came out and stayed out for the duration of the build!! The three Men’s Shed guys worked non-stop to make up the frames and bolted them together before cladding with the red cedar and topping off with the fake slate.
Jo examined the structure which we sited at the entrance to her property. On seeing the resulting kiosk she said that she was amazed and delighted with it.
Jo sent the following message:-
“Bob,
I am so grateful to you for building and erecting my gorgeous new flower stall.
Thanks too to Bob 2 and Stuart for listening, discussing the brief and taking the job on. It was a joy to have you all here for the afternoon whilst you expertly put the creation together. I attach photos of the project. So pleased it was a sunny day for you all.
Good luck with the rest of your projects. What you do is wonderful! Thank you again and let’s hope it helps to raise more funds for the MS TRUST.
Jo”
Edit: The last photo in the gallery shows that Jo has already stocked her stall with a beautiful display of flowers!
